After nearly 27 years of dedicated service to Metro Boiler Tube Co., Inc., Partial Owner and Straight Tube Division Manager Sam Long is retiring.
Sam's last day will be April 1, 2026.
A Distinguished Career & Ownership
Sam joined Metro Boiler Tube on June 1, 1999, and from the very beginning demonstrated versatility and dedication across multiple roles within the company.
Throughout his career, Sam has worn many hats, taking on critical responsibilities in Traffic, Warehouse Management, Inventory, and Shop Superintendent. His ability to adapt and excel in diverse roles has been instrumental to Metro Boiler Tube's success.
Sam ultimately became Straight Tube Division Manager and Partial Owner of the company, where his leadership and vision helped drive the division to new heights.
Beyond his operational excellence, Sam's role as a Partial Owner positioned him as a key stakeholder in Metro Boiler Tube's strategic direction and growth. His ownership and leadership in the Straight Tube Division have been instrumental in establishing Metro Boiler Tube as a leading supplier in the industry.
His expertise, professionalism, and commitment have left a lasting impact on our company and all those who have had the privilege of working with him.
Throughout his 27-year tenure, Sam has exemplified the values that Metro Boiler Tube was founded upon, and his legacy will continue to inspire us for years to come.

Fabricated Mechanical Straight Sales
As Sam begins his well-deserved retirement, we are pleased to announce the transition of leadership in our Straight Tube Division.
Kevin Phillips will be overseeing Straight Sales, in addition to his current role managing Mechanical Sales. Kevin's extensive experience and commitment to excellence make him the ideal person to provide strategic oversight and ensure continuity in our straight tube operations.
Lucas Doperalski will serve as the primary Straight Tube Salesman, handling day-to-day customer inquiries, quotes, and orders. Lucas brings valuable experience and a customer-first approach that aligns perfectly with the standards Sam established.
Both Kevin and Lucas have been working closely with Sam during this transition period to ensure seamless continuity in all straight tube sales operations, customer relationships, and service delivery.
We are confident that this team will uphold Sam's legacy of excellence in straight tube sales and continue to provide the reliable, professional service our customers expect.
