Tom Cawood Retirement Announcement
Retirement Date: April 1, 2026
Metro Boiler Tube Co., Inc. announces that Tom Cawood, Co-Owner and Project Manager, will be retiring on April 1, 2026, after over 30 years of dedicated service to our company.
Tom joined Metro Boiler Tube on February 21, 1994, as Shop Superintendent, later transitioning to Quality Control in 2003, and ultimately serving as Project Manager since 2008. As Co-Owner, Tom played a pivotal role in the company's strategic direction and growth.
Transition to Scott Bell
We are pleased to announce that Scott Bell will be assuming the role of Project Manager, effective April 1, 2026.
Scott brings extensive qualifications and expertise to this position, holding certifications as a Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) Level III Technician and Certified Welding Inspector (CWI). His technical knowledge and commitment to quality make him an ideal successor to Tom's legacy.
Scott has been working closely with Tom during this transition period to ensure continuity in project management, quality standards, and customer satisfaction.

Sam Long Retirement Announcement

Metro Boiler Tube Co., Inc. announces that Sam Long, Partial Owner and Straight Tube Division Manager, will be retiring on April 1, 2026, after nearly 27 years of exceptional service to our company.
Sam joined Metro Boiler Tube on June 1, 1999, and has worn many hats throughout his career, including Traffic Manager, Warehouse Manager, Inventory Specialist, and Shop Superintendent. As Partial Owner and Straight Tube Division Manager, Sam's leadership helped establish Metro Boiler Tube as a leading supplier in the industry.
Transition to Kevin Phillips & Lucas Doperalski
We are pleased to announce the transition of leadership in our Straight Tube Division.
Kevin Phillips will be overseeing Straight Sales, in addition to his current role managing Mechanical Sales. Kevin's extensive experience and commitment to excellence make him ideal for providing strategic oversight.
Lucas Doperalski will serve as the primary Straight Tube Salesman, handling day-to-day customer inquiries, quotes, and orders.
Both Kevin and Lucas have been working closely with Sam during this transition period to ensure seamless continuity.

Danny Prather Retirement Announcement

Metro Boiler Tube Co., Inc. announces that Danny Prather, our dedicated Traffic Manager, retired on March 4, 2026, after nearly a decade of exceptional service.
Danny joined Metro Boiler Tube on October 10, 2016, and served as Traffic Manager throughout his entire tenure. His expertise in logistics coordination, scheduling, and carrier management kept our operations running smoothly day in and day out.
Transition to Chris Rich
We are pleased to announce that Chris Rich has assumed the role of Traffic Manager, effective March 5, 2026.
Chris brings valuable experience and commitment to maintaining the high standards that Danny established. He has worked closely with Danny during the transition to ensure continuity in all logistics operations.
